Energy Audit in the Pulp&Paper industry of Vietnam – audit review discussion

The “Strengthening Capacity on Climate Change Initiatives in the Industry and Trade sectors” project (CCIT) is being implemented by Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) of Vietnam, during 2013-2017 with support from UNDP Viet Nam and the UNDP Low Emission Capacity Building (LECB) Programme. The project objective is to strengthen the capacity of policy makers and stakeholders in the industry and trade sectors to reduce GHG emission through development of Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA), enhance climate change resilience and exploit associated green trade opportunities.

EEP Mekong Programme is cooperating with MoIT/UNDP in the implementation of detailed energy audits in two pulp and paper mills in Vietnam, and short walk through audits in four to five other pulp and paper mills.

The energy audits are conducted by specialists from the consulting company ‘AF Consult’ from Finland together with the ‘Vietnam Cleaner Production Center (VCPC)’ as local consultant, with financial support from EEP Mekong.
